In June of 2022, I became certified as a Wildland Firefighter, and soon after was hired onto the Idaho-Based Engine team, Central Valley Fire. The company founder, Jeff Nevins, has been fighting fire for forty years. Formerly the fire chief of the Fire Department in Hailey, Idaho, Nevins retired and moved into the private sector in 2018.
